My Best Guacamole

If you prefer a creamy dip, the best guacamole recipe includes some unusual ingredients.
And it's actually quite low-fat and nutritious, despite the recent demonization of avocados as a food to avoid.
(Yes, they contain fat; but it's mostly polyunsaturated.)

Mash up Together:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • non-fat yogurt
  • low-fat sour cream
  • salsa (preferably fresh)
  • squeeze of lime juice

If you are used to the traditional recipe, I recommend starting with the non-dairy ingredients and adding just a little sour cream and yogurt until you decide how much is right for you.

Serve with tortilla chips, or as a topping on burritos, quesadillas or fajitas.

Extra points:  use homemade yogurt for your best guacamole
