Cooking with Sunshine

Cooking with Sunshine, by Lorraine Anderson and Rick Palkovic, provides an excellent guide to solar cooking and an impressive array of recipes.

While there are a few tips on emergency survival, this book is geared more towards cooks who just want to use solar energy in a new way.
More than just a cookbook, it includes:

  1. Excellent illustrations of different types of solar cookers
  2. Simple explanations of how solar cooking works, and which types of cookers to use for your particular needs
  3. How to find or make your own cooker
  4. Tips for the best cookware to use
  5. General rules to follow for best results
  6. 20 easy recipes to try first
  7. Over 100 more advanced recipes, from appetizers to desserts
  8. A handy index of the recipes by useful categories (such as "one-pot meals" and dishes that work on cloudy days)
  9. Answers to common questions and challenges

The resources section at the end is helpful as well, and still up to date in the book's 2006 edition.
