Healthy Food Movies
Healthy food movies inspire us to create, share and make good eating a central part of our lives. They can even motivate watchers to change their lives (the most famous example is likely Alice Waters, who started Chez Panisse to create a community space like the ones she witnessed in Pagnol's films).
While there are plenty of foodie films out, where eating or cooking play a leading role, not all of these count here.
And some quite sensational films (featuring cannabalism, food as a tool of abuse, and some just plain intentionally gross scenes) really don't fit the bill.
A healthy food movie meets one or more of three criteria:
- sharing food mends or strengthens relationships between characters;
- characters bond through the creation of food;
- making choices about food and expressing their values through those choices helps a character find its direction in life.
If healthy food movies are too long for you,
